Osteopathic medicine is the only system of medicine that has clearly established principles guiding its practice. The principles include: (1) the body is a unit of body, mind, and spirit; (2) structure and function are interrelated; (3) the body has the innate ability to heal itself; (4) rational practice of medicine must take these principles into account. These tenets of osteopathy are easily developed to encompass a holistic treatment paradigm that characterizes osteopathy in the 21st century. That the body should be considered as a unified whole as opposed to a summation of its parts is central to the first tenet. Additionally, one must consider the individual as an extension of his entire environment: social, family, environmental, nutritional, psychospiritual. It must be recognized that each aspect of his existence plays as significant role in the maintenance of his health and must be addressed if health is to be restored and maintained.

Dr. Tyler a Cedar City native, followed his own father in his schooling to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. “I grew up seeing my dad help so many people with chiropractic that I just knew it was what I wanted to do. Natural health care just made sense to me. We never had to see a medical doctor for any illness in our family, and he (my dad) could help us recover much faster from sporting events by adjusting us than by the medications and pain killers I saw my friends had to use.”

He went to Southern Utah University and continued his graduate education at Parker College of Chiropractic. While meeting the rigors of the accelerated program he also obtained certifications in both Applied Kinesiology and Chiropractic Acupuncture, as well as working alongside his wife in tutoring high schoolers, mentoring math and science camps, and working with special needs children as part of Celebrate the Children.

He has operated the clinic in Cedar City, UT since January of 2006. Tyler loves to have fun, especially with his family. He enjoys playing on 4-wheelers and motorcycles, camping, practicing survival skills, skiing, and martial arts.
